Circa early 20th Century this large handbell has the original wooden handle and clapper, and it has the initials FCCA on the front.
We think this may refer to Ferrocarril Central Argentino – the Central Argentinian railway because the same initials appeared on their locomotives in the early 20th Century.
The bell measures 31cm in height and the bell is 15cm in diameter. It weigh 1.6kgs and is made in phosphorous bell brass (used to make the brass stronger) hence the slightly different colour – but the colour isn’t as dark as appears in the images – these are reflections of surrounding colour with the camera flash.
