This Victorian lantern was always made for candles, and we suspect it was for use on the railways. Eli Griffiths and Sons were well known for manufacturing items for the shipping and railways. There is a clear brass label on the front of the lantern that reads: ELI GRIFFITHS & SONS; BRADFORD ST; BIRMINGHAM.
The lantern is 35cm in height and it has a 19cm diameter base. The original wood handle measures 15cm in length and 13cm in width and shows signs of lots of use!
We think the glass is all original, and everything is in good condition.
Postage and packing is included in the price for the UK mainland areas only; for remote parts of the UK and abroad, please contact us for a quote for delivery.
