Circa Late 19thC to early 20thC, this pair of solid brass fire dogs are extremely heavy.
They measure 25cm in height and are 21cm in length. The distance between the lion’s paw feet is 15cm.
We have not had them professionally polished, but they would polish up very well in a domestic setting.
The decorative round ball at the top of the fire dogs is held by a mythological hand, which along with the lion’s claw feet dates them to the late Victorian period.
